Lately…

After ending February with a stinking cold and a sickness bug, I was ready for March to begin and for spring to come alive. It’s only the 3rd of March (writing this) yet I already have a very positive outlook for the month ahead. I have a few shoots already lined up which I’m looking forward to. I also shot a very special post with Victoria from In The Frow and Burberry which you can see here. I’m so pleased with how our concept together with Burberry came to life. I’ll have the full post up on my blog very soon.

Tomorrow morning I am heading off on a very exciting trip with Isabella to Santorini, I’m not sure I can begin to explain how excited I am! A week of shoots in the sunshine with a very lovely lady is just what the doctor ordered, after being so poorly!!

Isabella has very recently made the jump to become freelance from ASOS to focus more on her blog. I’m so happy to see her doing so well and being successful doing what she loves. I just can’t wait to share photos of what we get up to. Be sure to give us both a follow on Instagram if you don’t already as I’m sure there will be quite a few uploads!

Can we also just take a minute to appreciate how cute this ‘travel notes‘ journal is, a lovely item from Kikki K, a brand that I knew very little about up until November. I think the first time I saw the brand was on Olivia’s Christmas gift guide and I was totally smitten, so when I saw they were going to open a store in Covent Garden I could hardly contain my excitement.

After quite a few visits to the store (more than I’d care to admit, if you didn’t know already I’m a raging stationary addict) I attended their first workshop here in the UK with Emily & Meredith at the beginning of February. The workshops are in conjunction with their ‘Inspiration Journals‘, and this workshop was themed on their goals journal. I’m more in love with the brand than ever. So when this trip with Isabella was booked in the diary I couldn’t help but get a few bits from their travel range; ‘Resfeber’ pieces! You’ll be seeing them in a few upcoming posts I’m sure.

In the mean time, better late than never, does anyone have any recommendations for Santorini?

We definitely CAN take a minute to appreciate that travel notebook. Swoon! I always take a journal when I go travelling because it's so easy to forget the smaller things when travelling and only looking and remembering the photos that go up on Facebook. I LOVE really through my journal and remembering the stupid things that went wrong etc.

Before I start inundating you all with festive and christmas themed posts, I wanted to share some of my favourite moments from Autumn in the city. Seeing London streets transform into so many beautiful colours, the leaves changing and the days becoming shorter, makes me excited for the season to come, wrapping up warm in a new winter coats and a cosy scarf. Kicking fallen leaves whilst running for the bus is novel to start with, but mixed with rain which lets face it is inevitable can make for a heart pounding moment, will I fall won’t I?! If you’re familiar with my clumsy antics, tripping over during a shoot trying to get ‘that’ shot isn’t an unusual occurrence.

Hyde Park

One of the city’s most beautiful and regal parks, home to thousands of Parakeets which up until recently I had never seen. They all seem to flock to a certain area within the park. They’re can be mighty friendly, landing on patient hands. Children squealed and we gazed on enchanted by these beautiful birds calling London their home. I loved spending the afternoon here, capturing the changing colours of the park and seeing everyone wrapped up in coats and scarves. It is nice to escape the hustle and bustle of the city for a few hours.

Columbia Road

One of my favourite places in the city if you weren’t already aware from my past posts. I always love the atmosphere that this beautiful flower market offers. I feel as if I fall in love with it more and more each time I visit. Over the Christmas season they run late nights in the week with festive offerings, and watching young men cart christmas trees about on their backs is quite amusing. A few years ago I remember seeing one strapped to a push bike.

I hope you’ve liked my little little round up from Autumn, now here’s to endless mugs of mulled wine…

Lately…

It has been a little while since I shared an update of what’s been going on in the past few months. I have taken a big step to becoming fully freelance, and in the past two months I have solely been working on new projects and undertaken new work with some fabulous brands! You may have caught my collaboration with Jack Wills, Olivia & Joe back in September [see full post here]. I am really looking forward to working with more brands and continuing to expand my portfolio further. I have quite a few projects in the pipeline currently so I will be sharing the photos on my website and the full stories behind the shoots on here.

Sundays are are the time that I try not to make any plans and do whatever takes my fancy, especially today with the clocks going back giving us an extra hour in bed! It got me thinking that it’s so important to take time out for yourself. The whole world is focused on what everyone else is doing, I think we all need to remember to take a step back once in a while and do something for ourselves.

I recently picked up the book ‘Big Magic’ (pictured below) after Olivia’s recommendation
on instagram. I have yet to finish the book but I’m about a third of the way through and totally captivated by it! I’ll be sure to let you know how it is once I’ve finished it! I hope that you’re all enjoying a lazy and cosy Sunday

This past month has been really rather exciting. I feel as if I have reached a milestone in my career. I started shooting for ASOS and working with their ‘Stylists‘ and team. I shall soon be sharing the work I shot with them last month which has featured on the stylists profiles. Being able to work with and shoot for a brand I love and use rather too regularly, feels slightly surreal but its also has given me a real creative boost! I am pursuing my ambition and people are liking the results. I’m not sure I could put how this has made me feel into words. I guess what I’m trying to say is that hard work really does pay off and if your passionate about something and thrive on the ambition it gives you, keep going!

Lately…

To start the new year I thought it would be nice to begin a new series of posts entitled ‘Lately’ photos from recent happenings and moments I have captured whilst out and about . I’d really love to hear your feedback on this style of post, I hope you all like it.

Ace Hotel – Shoreditch; A fabulous hub to work remotely from. Super friendly staff and the ideal place for a mid morning coffee meeting. Morgane and I took advantage of the in-house photobooth.

Spit Jacks – Victoria Park; Saphia and I headed here for lunch before heading to the Guy Bourdin exhibition last month. I had the ‘Chicken Bang Bang’ sandwich, my oh my it was delicious!! I shall definitely be back here again for brunch, lunch and dinner when I get the chance.

2015’s First snow fall – The first snowfall I have seen at our family home since moving last summer.
I just love the way snow covers everything it touches. The first of the snow dusts the landscape like sifted icing sugar. I’m looking forward to when we get a full snow covering so we can see the area in all its beautiful snowy glory.
