Lately…

Nearly half way through February already and I have got to say I feel like the weeks are speeding by. For Christmas I got the backdrop featured in these photographs. These were the first experimental self-portraits I shot once I’d set up the backdrop and I’m pretty pleased with how they’ve turned out. I’d love to experiment more this year with a natural light studio so am looking to buy a few more backdrops and play around with new ideas whenever I can. Let me know if you’d like to see more of these style photos and if you’re interested in booking in a portrait shoot please drop me an email, I would love to hear from you.

The past few weeks have mainly been spent indoors as it is close to freezing outside so I thought I’d share with you some things I’ve been loving over the past few weeks. I wanted to mention a few books, posts and podcasts that have made me happy or smile. I love it when people share and support others that inspire them so this post is dedicated to the lovely bunch below.

‘The Fringe Of It’ – Charlotte Jacklin from Betty Magazine and Liv Purvis from What Olivia Did. Two lovely and inspirational friends of mine have launched a podcast! The first episode is focused on friendships and I absolutely LOVE it! This project has been a year in the making and these two are the perfect pair to have a podcast together and I can’t wait to listen to their fortnightly episodes.

‘Fat & Happy – One Year On’ – I’m in love with Chloe’s style of writing and loved this new post in particular. Go and read this post immediately after this and I can’t promise you won’t get stuck down a reading hole!

‘The Working Woman’s Handbook’ by Phoebe Lovatt – I got this book as a birthday present and couldn’t wait to dive in. I read it cover to cover in less than a week which for me is a big achievement and found it so informative and inspiring. I’d recommend it to every woman looking to educate yourself on work and life balance and how to plan ahead for your business. Also do check out Phoebe’s site ‘The WW Club’ a space for working women worldwide.

‘How to Self-Promote without Feeling Arrogant and Salesy’ by Do you speak freedom – Brilliant article on Veronika’s blog which I spotted on Sara Tasker’s twitter last week. If you suffer from imposter syndrome or self-doubt this post is for you. It was really self-empowering and I’m definitely going to be giving some of these tips a go myself.

I am planning on starting on a monthly newsletter in the style of this post with my monthly faves and recommendations and would love to know if you’d be interested in signing up. I’m off to Budapest this weekend with my best friend Emily, I am so excited! If you have any recommendations please leave me a comment, expect to see an influx of Budapest photos on my instagram feed from Saturday. Have a wonderful week you lovely lot!
