Brussels is a city I’d given much thought to visiting a few months ago. Full of wanderlust and on a mission to book a girly weekend away with two of my oldest friends for the start of October, we scoured through pinterest, blogs and flights and train prices and landed on Brussels for a two night stay in Brussels.
Only a two and a half hour ride away from central London, it did leave us wondering why we’d never visited Brussels before! We caught a tram to our Airbnb in the Chatelain district of the Ixelles region. Our Airbnb was perfect for our weekend away and all three of us wouldn’t hesitate to stay again, I’ll leave a link to the listing below.
I hope you enjoy this rather photo heavy post, grab a cuppa and add these places to your Brussels bucket list. This certainly won’t be the last time I visit this intriguing and wonderful city. Until next time Brussels!
Cup 28 – We stopped by here for lunch on our first afternoon. Great variety of coffees along with yummy savoury bagels. We did also spot amazing bubble waffles here which would have been amazing for brunch.
Grand Place – I came across this tourist spot on every travel site/blog before visiting but you do have to visit. All three of us were overwhelmed by how beautiful the buildings were and how their gilding glistened in the sun, a truly beautiful sight to see in the flesh. The main square is also home to the fanciest looking Starbucks I think I may have ever seen. Visit, get a photo or two and admire the amazing architecture.
Maison Dandoy – One of the most recommended spots to get the famous Belgian waffles and my my my they were delicious!
Chez Leon – We ate here on our first night and had the most amazing mussels and Belgian frites. I highly recommend visiting and I’ll definitely be stopping by here on my next visit.
Galeries Royales Saint-Hubert – Ideal for a spot of window shopping and picking up some chocolates for the boyfriends and family.
Delirium Cafe – Another highly recommended tourist spot and even the locals love to pop in for a passing beer. Over 2000 beers are on offer, all 3 of us loved the laid back vibe of this bar and may have visited a few too many times for a 3 day visit.

Beeeaaauuutiful photos! Brussels is such a lovely city, isn’t it? I went a few times when my friend was living there 5 years ago, and recently I’ve started having this itch to go back. I think I need to hop back on the Eurostar and visit again! x
