35mm Diaries #6

It’s been a little while since my last 35mm Diaries post, this is in part due to the fact that my last roll of film broke in the camera whilst I was shooting in Cornwall back in March, so I lost what I had shot on the roll which included the crazy snow storm which now feels like a dream. Losing that roll just reminded me of the unpredictability of film and how much I do treasure it. Developing film and seeing the photos you get from it is a totally different feeling to shooting digitally or taking shots on your phone. Sometimes a reminder is all you need to see how special and tangible capturing moments is. Today’s film post includes a variety of shots from the end of March and April. I couldn’t not take a few shots of the gorgeous cherry blossom. It’s such a shame it’s only here for a short time, I wish blossom would last for a month or two, it always puts a smile on my face.

Kirsty popped down to London for a shoot and we got to spend the day together and we also went to the Wes Anderson ‘Isle of Dogs’ exhibition, which you can read all about here. I have also included a photo of Kirsty and I shot by Ollie on his Voigtlander camera which he recently got passed down from his uncle. He’s been so fascinated to experiment with an all manual camera and his results from the last few rolls have been fantastic, I really love the photo of us.

More shots from mine and Ollie’s Yorkshire Dales trip. The landscape was so green and there were just endless amounts of sheep and little lambs. The last photos in this post are from when we got back to London, strolls around Columbia Road with Emily and then a super sunny day in the city a few weeks ago, we spent the day in London fields soaking up the sunshine. I have also recently purchased a new film camera, the Canon EOS 300D which I’m still shooting a roll on now, I’m very excited to see how they come out. My next 35mm post will be with shots from that camera and my thoughts on how it works compared to my usual Olympus OM10. As always if there’s anything you’d like to see or for me to feature in these 35mm Diaries series then please do let me know. I love hearing from you lovely lot and getting your feedback.
