Hello you lovely lot, so the more eagle eyed among you may have noticed a lack of posts this last month and there was no newsletter either. I effectively went on a month’s hiatus without intending to but I really think it’s helped me both mentally and creatively.
I’d got into a nice routine of posting once a week and I liked that but when I no longer had recent photos to publish and I was unsure of what I wanted to say and share with you all, I didn’t want to continue posting weekly and have posts and photos that I wasn’t proud of on here. So I decided not to post the first week, then the second, third and fourth week shot past so quickly that September was over before I’d had a proper moment to take it all in. I decided to hold fire on my newsletter going out also so that October’s would be jam packed full of interesting content for you all to enjoy. If you’re not on the mailing list and would like to sign up you can do so here. It will be in your inboxes the last Saturday of the month.
My anxiety has recently been all consuming and I haven’t been able to get out and about as much as I would have liked. But after having a chat with my doctor and seeking some extra help I’m now feeling ready to power on through and get back to weekly posting. I love Autumn, I think that it’s possibly my favourite season so I can’t wait to be shooting the changing of the seasons and all the adventures I get up to. Ollie and I were in Paris during the end of Sept so I am very much looking forward to sharing the photos from our trip there. Travelling to new places always gives me a buzz of inspiration!
These photos were taken by Ollie last week when we popped to Notting Hill, I’d been to see Kylie at the O2 the night before hence the t-shirt. Am I the only one who can not resist buying tour merch when going to see a band/concert. The tee epitomised the whole show and I love that it looked like a 70’s movie poster so I just had to get it. Kylie was incredible, she put on such a show, the staging and choreography were amazing. She’s a fellow 5ft lady so it was so awesome to see how her presence filled the stage and the whole of the O2 went wild for her multiple outfit changes and set list spanning lots of her back catalogue which we were very happy to hear. I’ve been playing her new album all week since! I’m in total awe of her, Kylie is so inspiring!
I thought I’d share a few little handy tips that have helped me during the last month with my anxiety…
- Stop and make a cuppa and sit down and enjoy it
- Reading before bed instead of looking at my phone! Hard habit to break, but it definitely helped me to sleep better and wind down from the day calmly.
- Having plans to look forward to, all of September I was counting down to our Paris trip. But now we’ve been on our trip I’m planning to book a restaurant we’ve wanted to go to for date night to look forward to.
- Talk to your loved ones, I’m so fortunate to have such a strong support network around me and I know I can always talk to them when I’m feeling down. Finally, it’s really helped me having my family dog Beau around, she always makes me smile (she was staying with us before we went to Paris). I know having a pet is not a possibility for everyone. But I couldn’t not mention it as I find it so relaxing and calming having a dog around, being able to cuddle up on the sofa or go for a walk in the afternoon sun.
Hopefully those tips can help you out if your feeling stressed out or anxious too. I’m looking forward to planning some autumnal and winter content and as always would love to know what you’d like to see from me too. So please do leave a comment or send me a message if there’s something you’d love to see here on my blog. See you very soon!
