Where to begin with the hundreds of photos I have from the Winter Wonderland that was Meribel. It seems rather fitting that I start with our incredible home for the trip – Chalet Les Brames. I have never been skiing or to any sort of proper snowy location before so for me this trip was full of firsts. We arrived late on Tuesday night in the pitch black, super excited to see what awaited us the next morning. Awaking to snow topped mountains and covered trees, it was just spectacular! Chalet Les Brames was so much more than I could have imagined! It felt so homely and the staff went above and beyond to look after us on our trip, it honestly felt like a dream.
I can’t talk about the chalet without mentioning the incredible in house Chef Dan who cooked all of our meals exquisitely. Waking up on our first morning we went for a little explore outside of the chalet and when we returned the sweet smell of croissants and pastries filled the air, and when we arrived down to breakfast we were asked if we wanted blueberry pancakes, I going to assume you’ll know the answer to that one. I knew I was going to find it hard to leave the breakfast table let alone the house! We had such a range of traditional french cuisine on our trip including a fondue night which me and made the entire group laugh a LOT! Lots of stringy melty cheese, what’s not to like.
The chalet had its own spa area, where we did yoga on our first morning which I’m a total novice at. It was in fact my first ever lesson and I throughly enjoyed it. The instructor was super lovely, and we all felt rather calm and relaxed before heading out on our little local hike. We returned to hot chocolates around the fire and the best brownies I have EVER eaten thanks to Chef Dan. Later that afternoon a private masseur arrive to give everyone massages. That is yet again something that I’ve never done before so I jumped at the chance and it was so wonderful and relaxing, I have no idea why I waited until now! I will definitely be booking one in London ASAP! As I mentioned at the start of this post this trip truly was one full of firsts for myself which made it so incredibly special.
Another absolute treat the house had was the adorable Riley, a golden retriever that Isabella and I fell in LOVE with. He was always so happy to see us and features throughout these Meribel posts, I mean can you blame us! I wanted to take him home with us, there was one point on the trip he jumped in our cab as we were about to head out, I wish he’d been able to come with us, dogs make everything better right?!
Isabella kindly invited me along on the trip with Six Travel who I’ll tell you a little more about in subsequent posts, but the whole crew and team for the trip were incredible, we all were sure to make the most out of our time together in Meribel. I will be back real soon to fill you in more about the trip, I’m aiming to have a little something up for my birthday tomorrow, eeeek where has this year gone?!?!?! I hope you guys have liked finding out more about our Winter Wonderland trip and I can’t wait to share more photos with you very soon.
