35mm Diaries

This post has been a long time coming, let me tell you. It has been one of my goals to shoot more film, specifically 35mm. As much as I love a candid polaroid, shooting film is when my passion for photography first began to thrive.

Whilst we live in a digital age and have a camera readily available on our iPhones, there’s a very special type of magic that you feel when receiving your photos back from the developers. Did they come out? Did I get any double exposures, did I expose the photo correctly? I love to shoot film, but consciously remembering to carry an additional camera with me when my DSLR is literally glued to my hand can sometimes feel like a bit of extra weight that I don’t need to cart around. But always in the back of my mind is how special and sacred capturing moments on film is.

So last month and this month I finally started to take my little Olympus OM10 out and about with me. 9 months late to start a new year goal… but better late than never I suppose. Some of the photos in this post were taken back in the Spring in London whilst others were over the past few weeks. I’m hoping to keep this little ’35mm Diaries’ feature updated regularly giving you lovely lot a bit of an insight to shooting film. I adore Lizzy’s from ‘Shot from the street’ series ‘My week on 35mm’ and you could say it’s what spurred me on to finally get this post uploaded.

I’m already nearly at the end of a another roll of film, so will have those photos scanned and on a new post very soon. In the meantime I’d love to know if you liked this post and if you have any 35mm related questions I’ll try my best to help you out.
